Thad Wong is a martial artist, teacher and bodyworker practicing in the Chinese tradition. His study of Chinese martial arts ignited a passion for training, movement and teaching that has shaped his life continuously for over two decades. He has traveled and studied extensively in China and is a certified Qi Gong and Ba Gua Zhang instructor for Tom Bisio and Internal Arts International. He holds the rank of 5th degree Black Belt Associate Master in Shaolin Kung Fu, and was the founder and head instructor of the New York City Shaolin Center for the length of its tenure. He has studied Chinese Medicine in a traditional apprenticeship under Marcus Degrazia L.Ac., and is attending acupuncture school in the fall of 2015.
Thad utilizes the full range of his training to help guide his students towards deep internal change which affects the fundamental way they physically relate to the world. Through a combination of group classes, private instruction and bodywork treatment sessions he helps his students build a daily practice which improves their structural alignment, opens their energetic meridians and organically unifies the movement of their body. As students settle into this new place, they find they are able to meet life with greater vitality, a clearer mind and a calmer heart.
