The root of the practice of Xing Yi Quan is standing in San Ti Shi, or the Three Body stance. Most Xing Yi styles also use a series of exercises to lead the Qi and open the joints prior to performing standing.
The fundamentals class begins with the 16 Xing Yi Nei Gong exercises originally taught by Wang Ji Wu in order to develop the body and to develop the alignments necessary for standing in San Ti. Wang Ji Wu’s set also facilitates health and longevity by moving the Qi through the meridians and consolidating Qi in the Dan Tien.
Instruction and corrections will be given on the Xing Yi Nei Gong, San Ti Shi, as well as Pi Quan, Splitting fist- the first of the five fists of Xing Yi.
